The Jaso J80PA takes four wire ropes: hoisting wire rope 10 mm (length to suit your machine), luffing wire rope 14 mm × 145 m (476 ft), safety wire rope (jib) 8 mm (length to suit your machine) and safety wire rope (tower head) 8 mm × 6.6 m (22 ft).

Sheave groove gauges for this crane
Check your sheaves before the new rope goes on. A set for each rope size, from CA$7.50.
Worn sheaves are responsible for 90%+ of the problems we deal with. Check your sheaves with these groove gauges before installing the new rope.
Why 0.25 mm steps and not a go / no-go gauge? A go / no-go gauge only tells you pass or fail. A set in 0.25 mm steps shows how far the groove has worn, so you know how much life the sheave has left and whether it will make it through the next job.

Tell us the standard you inspect to in your quote list: it sets the minimum groove size we mark on the gauges. It does not change the price.

When you buy a rope from us, we would love your retired rope too. We donate it to Ropes for Riggers. The rope is recycled and the proceeds fund scholarships for people entering the crane and rigging trades.
